Where and how was the Lounge Light line developed?
Lounge Lights were developed in Germany in late 2003 by artist, visionary, producer, Archim Perleberg, who just prior had produced one of the largest light shows ever seen - three major world events in Beijing, China, Budapest, Hungary and Berlin, with monumental light amazed millions of viewers with hundreds of miles of brilliantly lit landscape. Soon thereafter, he decided to take these experiences to a new level – he wanted to take this affinity and fascination he had for light and put it into a realm that we could all enjoy on a smaller scale and at a more intimate level. This idea resulted in the “Lounge Light” concept. Designed with the same inspiration and vision as his phenomenal light shows, the “Lounge Light” line stands out in the LED industry.

Isn’t the Lounge Light a candle?
The first Lounge Lights were indeed candles – candles that combined the beauty and warmth of pillar candles with modern LED technology to illuminate any surroundings in an entirely new way. Since then other designs have been added to the line which revolve around our patented “LL LightEngineTM” and come in a large variety of designs and styles including lamps and lanterns.

What is an LED?
An LED is a “light emitting diode”, which emits light using much less energy than conventional electrical lighting and generating almost no heat. LED’s have been around since the sixties, but it was recently that there has been revolution in LED technology. Today they are hundreds of times brighter than light bulbs, last up to 100,000 hours and are available in almost any colour – they are the light source of the future!

How long will the Lounge Light LED last?
The Lounge Light LED’s will last for over 100,000 hours! The battery included with each Lounge Light candle will power the LED for 100 hours. It can then simply be replaced with a new 4.5V battery. The battery included with each Lounge Light product is our own 4.5V patented battery that lasts over 10 times the duration of a standard 9V battery and costs approximately the same. It is environmentally safe, as it contains no mercury or cadmium and is based on alkaline technology - the same kind used with batteries for sensitive electronic applications.

Can the 4.5V battery be used in all the products in the Lounge Light line?
Yes, the battery was designed to be completely interchangeable within the whole Lounge Light line.
In fact, as it is the best battery in the market for LED applications you will soon find other LED-based products for which you will be able utilize any batteries you purchase.

How do Lounge Lights work?
Lounge Lights can be broken down into two separate parts. The candle part works just like any other candle and is lit by lighting the wick. The LED glow comes from a small battery-powered light in the base of the candle. It is equipped with a switch which can be programmed to any particular colour, to match the theme or décor of the room it is in, or left to radiate all the colours. (It is important to activate the LED before lighting the wick.)

The Lounge Light LED can also be used on its own to glow without even burning the candle to create a fantastic light performance – perfect for windy areas or area where open flames are banned or dangerous.

Are Lounge Lights safe?
The Lounge Light LED is safely protected in a fireproof dome in the base of the candle and the wick ends before reaching the dome. Since Lounge Lights can be enjoyed without ever lighting the wick they could be considered a safer alternative to traditional candles.

What are Lounge Light Candles made of?
Lounge Light Candles are manufactured from a highly purified paraffin wax that burn odourless and with a warm bright flame. The wick is produced from pure cotton and contains no lead.

What other styles of Lounge Light Candles are available?
The original Lounge Light products are made of unscented, ivory wax with a special ice finish that adds character and depth to their LED glow. Other designs and finishes have been added to this range.
There are also tea-light versions of the Lounge Light candles with recessions carved into the top of the wax pillar, enabling you to replace the tea-lights as desired.

What colours are available?
The colour-programmable standard LED’s have all the colours of the spectrum and rotate through them all, unless they are programmed to stay on a specific colour, this means that you do not have to purchase one specific colour, but have all colours available in all products.

The only exception to this is the soon-to-be introduced “White Line” which sustains the colour white without the addition of any other colours, so be used in conjunction with coloured containers or on their own.
Unless specified as part of the White Line, all products come with the standard colour-programmable light.
